Living Free is Not Free

Karen | news | Wednesday, 04 July 2007

My Dad was in the Air Force and retired after 25 years. During that time we moved to many different places. It was hard changing schools every 2 years but I made it through. My sister and I are only 1 year and 11 days apart in age. We were pretty much best friends who helped each other cope with the jitters we felt walking into that new school. The worst time, that I can remember, was when she went to junior high and I went to a new elementary school. I was on my own that time!

I think I have counted that I went to 14 different schools. During the 6th grade, I went to 3 different schools and still made the honor roll! I think we just learned to cope. It really was a good life.

Remember the families of the soldiers who defend our country. They give up some things as much as the soldiers do. It is worth it to live in a country that is free.
