Stamp Out Hunger
This has nothing to do with travel, which is what I write about on this blog, but it is important. Did you know that 35 million Americans are hungry or living on the brink of hunger? That is crazy! We have so many resources and yet our fellow citizens are going hungry? We have to put and end to that situation or at least make a huge dent in the problem.
For the 14th year, the Campbell Soup Company and the United States Postal Service are teaming together with the National Association of Letter Carriers to co-sponsor Stamp Out Hunger.
Stamp Out Hunger™ is the nation’s largest single-day food drive. Last year, over 70 million pounds of food were donated to food banks. Join in the fight to end hunger on Saturday, May 10, 2008, by leaving non-perishable food donations in a bag next to your mailbox for your letter carrier. It is that simple. The next time you do your grocery shopping, pick up an extra can of green beans and another can of corn and donate it. You don’t even have to deliver it.
