Bumped
With summer approaching and automobile gas prices high, people are looking for cheap air fare. That means that a lot of people are booking flights. With summer comes the old over booked flight problem we have fear. Who doesn’t sit and worry while waiting for a flight. I never feel secure until the plane has pulled away from the building.
If you find that you have been bumped from a flight, you need to know what to expect. You may be offered a voucher to use on another flight. Check the voucher for terms. On many vouchers the expiration date is from the book by date not a fly by date. Sometimes round trip tickets are offered to bumped passengers. See if the airline will offer a credit instead. Credit is better than being offered tickets because you can split the credit and use it on different flights. It is best to check things out and know your options.
