I don’t know how we traveled before we had cell phones. We never have to worry about finding each other now that we have cell phones. I absolutely love living in this age of technology. I just got off the phone with a friend who was telling me about her week so far. It seems as though her son is undecided as to what to do with his life. She was hoping that by his senior year of high school, he would have an idea of a field he would like to study. I recommended that she have him look into Sherman College. It is one of the best chiropractic colleges. The college holds full accreditation from the Council on Chiropractic Education, and its graduates practice all across the country and around the world. Chiropractics is a rewarding career. Sherman College is located in Spartanburg, a beautiful area of South Carolina. I keep pushing for my kids to study in the south so that someday I will have someone to stay with when I vacation in the Carolinas.
You might remember a few months ago when I told about my husband’s fishing trip. He caught a lot of large fish. His fishing trip was fun, restful and enabled him to put several bags of bluegill in the refrigerator. Therein lies the problem. The fish are yummy but the only way I know how to cook them is to fry them. We are trying to eat healthier and fried foods are a no no. Does anyone know how to bake or grill bluegill?
My husband knows how to grill large fish. In fact, grilled salmon is one of his best dishes and one of my favorite foods. Do you have a special recipe that you use to grill salmon? Friends love to be invited to our house when hubby fixes salmon on the grill. He uses a secret concoction of spices along with lemon and it is mouthwatering delicious. We could have t-shirts made up that say, “fishermen have skill with the grill”. Seriously, there is no better source of nutrition than seafood from here in the US. My sister has gone through quite a hassle to get new glasses. She wanted her glasses by the time we left for our vacation this weekend. With the price of gas this summer, many are opting to vacation closer to home. When our kids were in young, about 8 and 12 years old, we opted to skip vacations and buy a boat. We had loads of fun boating on the reservoir near our home. We had a big inner tube that the kids would ride on as their dad would drive the boat and try to dump them. When we stopped for a snack we would find a quiet cove. The coves were where I saw partying on boats.
Many boaters feel that boating is the time to drink alcohol and put their troubles behind them by drowning them with drink. There is a problem with boating operating under the influence. Operating a boat while impaired is just as dangerous and just as illegal as drinking while driving a car. Many drownings occur as the result of mixing alcohol with boating. After reading about a an elderly person who became disoriented after a drive to the grocery, I am convinced that there are more uses for GPS tracking devices than I had originally considered.
